On 10/14/26 morning, the NHDOT gave HHS volunteers (Rich Hureau, Karen Raynes, Lori Cotter, Pat Bushway, Matt Parker) plus HHS-NHDOT liason Stephanie Dyer-Carroll a tour of the new and old bridge. The tour was led by NHDOT's Tyler Reisdorf.
The old bridge was scheduled to be closed within the next week or so and the new bridge used for traffic. The old bridge will then start to be removed. So we needed to get these pictures taken ASAP.
The tour started on the Hampton side of the new bridge, went south over the new bridge roadway and down the other side in Seabrook. It then crossed over the road to the old bridge side and went north along the old bridge roadway to Hampton. HHS volunteers took a lot of photos; the best are in the below album, arranged in the same order that the tour followed.
It can be confusing sometimes because photos were often taken facing in one direction (e.g. south on the new bridge) but then turning around in the same location and another photo taken (e.g. facing north on the new bridge). Sometimes photos were taken leaning over the edge of the new bridge, facing in either direction. But we feel the images are all interesting and give a good idea of how the new bridge was built in VERY close proximity to the old bridge and how the roadbed of the old bridge was used as a staging area to help with the construction of the new bridge, along with barges with construction cranes on either side of both bridges.
